Bean / Guide 2

How to use a small vibrator safely

A calm introduction to consent, lubrication, cleaning and stopping when something does not feel right.

A safe first use begins with the exact manufacturer instructions and your ability to stop. You do not have to reach a goal or keep going for a set time.

Before you begin

Check the item for damage, read its intended use and confirm whether it can be washed or submerged. Charge it according to the instructions. If using lubricant, check compatibility with the product and any barrier involved. Choose a private situation in which you can pay attention to comfort rather than rush.

Keep the pace under your control

Start conservatively and make one change at a time. Use only as intended; a small format is not permission to use it in any body area. If sharing with a partner, agree on an easy stop signal and check in. Discomfort, numbness or irritation are reasons to stop, not goals to work through.

Finish with care

Turn it off, follow the cleaning directions and let it dry as instructed before storing it. Keep the charging connection and batteries within the maker’s guidance. Do not use damaged items or improvised repairs. Save the care instructions for the next time rather than relying on memory.
